Retiring the Saabs

Captain Rymek and me after our last scheduled flight on the Saab. We had just arrived back at LAX from Santa Barbara.
Here is the airplane that Captain Meyer and I flew to Kingman, AZ to park so that it can be retired from service.
Southern California coastline. I've been to Los Angeles to fly in Southern California 5 times this month...whew!
Lake Mead on the upstream side of the Hoover Dam. As you can see, the water is very low from the white water ring. After parking the Saab at Kingman, we (6 pilots) packed into an Astrovan and drove to Las Vegas, NV in order to return from there to our respective homes.
On top of Hoover Dam (built between 1931 and 1935)
The first time I've ever seen slot machines in an airport - only in Vegas!
